  • Pastry Cream (see following recipe), cooled to luke warm
  • 1 cup (150 g) sliced fresh strawberries, if desired
  • 1 cup (236 mL) whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons (30 mL) powdered sugar
  • ½ teaspoon (2.5 mL) vanilla
  • Whole strawberries as garnish
  • ¾ cup (150 g) sugar
  • 3 tablespoons (23 g) cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon (.7 mL) salt
  • 3 cups (708 mL) milk
  • 2 eggs, well beaten
  • 1 tablespoon (15 mL) butter
  • 2 teaspoons (10 mL) vanilla
