Basic Home -Style Chila
- 1 cup dried split mung beans
- 2 tablespoons basmati rice
- 1-inch piece fresh ginger, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon asafoetida
- 1/4 cup fresh coriander or parsley
- sea salt to taste
- small handful of dried fenugreek leaves
- 2 fresh red chilies, seeded and finely chopped
- dash of cayenne
- ghee, butter or oil for frying
