Basic Asian Broiled Tofu Recipe
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- Freshly ground black pepper
- 1/2 pound medium *carrots, peeled, cut in half lengthwise, then in half again widthwise
- 14 ounces firm or extra-firm tofu, sliced into 1-inch-by-2-inch rectangles
- 1 green onion, sliced thinly on the bias
- 1 teaspoon rice vinegar
- 1/4 teaspoon toasted sesame oil
- rice, for serving
